Types of proxy servers
Have you heared before about http proxy, https proxy, socks4 proxy or socks5 proxy. of course you did but what these means? Simply http and https proxies used to forward your http connections to the remote server - these http or https only support http connections (port 80 and 443) only and no other connection type supported - the difference between them is that https support SSL addtionally. Socks proxies is another type which support all types of connections made through them and they may support SSL or not.
